Le colloque explorera l’impact des changements démographiques sur la vitalité des langues régionales et minoritaires (LRM) et leur rôle dans l’enseignement secondaire dans des contextes où ces langues sont largement présentes. Il examinera également la manière dont l’évolution des cadres politiques devrait façonner l’enseignement des LRM et analysera les facteurs susceptibles de motiver les personnes nouvellement arrivées à apprendre ces langues. En se concentrant sur l’enseignement secondaire, l’événement abordera les défis auxquels sont confrontées les LRM dans des classes de plus en plus multilingues, en mettant en lumière des pratiques pédagogiques prometteuses. Des modèles d’enseignement innovants visant à soutenir l’apprentissage des LRM, susceptibles d’être transférés ou adaptés à d’autres contextes, seront présentés.
L’événement s’inscrit dans le cadre de l’action de coopération 2025 entre la Commission européenne et le Centre européen pour les langues vivantes du Conseil de l’Europe. Il tiendra pleinement compte des travaux déjà menés par le Conseil de l’Europe et la Commission européenne dans ce domaine,
ainsi que des préoccupations exprimées dans le cadre de l’initiative
« Minority Safepack » concernant l’échange de bonnes pratiques entre les systèmes éducatifs européens.
Les langues de travail du colloque sont le français et l’anglais.

Ausschreibung des ECML
The colloquium will explore the impact of demographic changes on the vitality of Regional and Minority Languages (RMLs) and their role in secondary education in contexts where Regional and minority languages (RMLs) are prevalent. It will also examine how evolving policy frameworks are expected to shape RML instruction and investigate the factors likely to motivate newcomers to learn these languages. Focusing on secondary education, the event will address the challenges RMLs are facing in increasingly multilingual classrooms, highlighting promising pedagogical practices. Innovative teaching models to support RML learning which are potentially transferable/adaptable to other contexts will be showcased.
The event takes place within the context of the 2025 cooperation action between the European Commission and the European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe. It will take full account of the work already conducted both by the Council and the European Commission in this area, as well as the concerns expressed within the Minority Safepack initiative with regard to the sharing of good practice among European educational systems.
The working languages of the colloquium are English and French.

Imparare una lingua vocale implica un confronto continuo con il proprio apparato fono-articolatorio. Come avviene l’apprendimento linguistico, ad esempio, per chi svolge professioni legate al mondo dello spettacolo? Come si impara a imitare la pronuncia di una lingua o l’accento di altre persone e quali limiti pone tale apprendimento? Quanto è considerato (ancora) lecito scherzare su certi accenti e dove si varca il limite del buon gusto nel farlo?

What used to work naturally suddenly becomes severely impaired. Yes, a stroke can place strict limits on our language skills. How one deals with her or his “before” and “after”? How can a language be relearnt? How can abrupt limitations on the ability to articulate language be overcome? What individual and external resources are crucial for speech rehabilitation? What role do emotional factors can play in this process?

(linguistics, sociology, education, communication…), the summer school sets out to advance our
understanding of a range of interrelated dimensions of change in people’s interactional practices and
resources. These include how people change their interactional conduct as they learn a first or second
language or navigate a new professional context, how people adapt their mutual conduct based on
increased familiarity with each other and growing shared knowledge, and how whole communities of
practice (e.g., members of a given institution) change their communicative patterns across decades.
The summer school puts a special emphasis on the methodological challenges related to conducting
longitudinal Conversation Analysis – from data collection, through the establishment of collections to
data analysis and interpretation of results. The event comprises plenary lectures and hands-on training
sessions led by our invited speakers, work-in-progress presentations by PhD students, post-docs, and
other interested researchers, as well as time for group-work sessions and social gatherings. […]

Quand les fondements scientifiques manquent, des limites dans l’offre de thérapies pourraient émerger, par exemple quand il s’agit de diagnostiquer less troubles du développement du langage chez les enfants multilingues. Qui a réellement besoin d’une thérapie, et qui aurait simplement besoin de plus de temps ? Quels outils diagnostiques avons-nous, et lesquels nous manquent ? Quelles approches thérapeutiques sont nécessaires, et où se situent les frontières de ce qui est thérapeutiquement possible ?

Die 11. gesamtschweizerische DaF/DaZ-Tagung fragt nach den vielen Dimensionen und neueren Entwicklungen im Kontext von Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache. Welche Lernenden, Lehrenden oder anderen gesellschaftlichen Gruppen sind von DaF/DaZ allgemein und/oder den Dimensionen resp. Entwicklungen betroffen? Wie gelingt es, über didaktische Konzepte, methodische Zugänge und sprachbiografische Erfahrungen Prozesse des Lernens und der Teilhabe zu initiieren und zu optimieren? Wozu dient Sprachunterricht heute – und welche (auch politischen, sozialen oder kulturellen) Ziele sind damit verbunden?
